Account Coordinator

We are looking for an energetic Account Coordinator to join our results-oriented team of PR pros at Bob Gold & Associates, an entertainment technology PR firm based in the Riviera Village area of Redondo Beach.

This is a full-time position starting immediately, with a hybrid workplace and schedule of 3 days virtual and 2 days in-person each week. If you don’t live nearby, we won’t be a match.

This is a perfect entry-level position for someone looking to kick-start their career in PR. We’re a small, flexible team that requires EVERYONE to work hands-on on a variety of projects and accounts, with opportunity for career growth. Outside the office, we encourage participation in industry groups, such as PRSA and AMA meetings, and we’ll help cover costs for relevant education and training.

Our clients include a diverse cross section of companies from start-ups to Fortune 500 firms. Recent and current clients include national television programmers, service providers, and hardware and software companies ranging from cable and satellite pay-TV services to OTT (over-the-top television) providers that are transforming the way we watch TV over the internet. Media and entertainment technology are industry specialties, but recent clients include enterprise software companies, non-profits and associations and professional services organizations.

The ideal candidate is a college graduate with a degree in public relations, journalism, marketing or related discipline; will have completed at least one PR-related internship, or held a position in a public relations or marketing agency or similar in-house role; demonstrates comfort with technology-focused subject matter; has excellent written and verbal communication skills; is eager to take initiative; and works collaboratively and effectively within a small team on multiple accounts.

Duties & responsibilities include:

  • Research, monitor and collect coverage for clients, their competitors and related industry news
  • Create weekly and monthly reports for clients
  • Develop and maintain accurate media lists and editorial calendars
  • Assemble, write, proofread and distribute press releases, media kits and other materials
  • Manage day-to-day social media efforts for a variety of clients on various platforms
  • Identify story angles and pitch media and analysts

Key qualifications:

  • Degree in public relations, journalism, marketing or a related discipline
  • Desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to multitask within a collaborative team environment with a spirit of cooperation
  • Basic understanding of emerging technology and desire to work with technology clients
  • Assertive and creative team player with strong writing skills
  • Experience with business-to-business social media
