Cybersecurity and Content Protection, Cloud Technologies, and IT Take Centerstage at NAB Show New York Digital Experience

MESA, an alliance of technology executives, production companies and content creators who are driving the future of the media and entertainment industry, today announced the full lineup of speakers and program for its upcoming M&E Day, which will address the emerging trends and challenges when navigating what’s next in today’s remote-work environment, and how Hollywood media and entertainment companies must evolve to continue to thrive. The virtual event will be held Wednesday, October 20, from 12:30-5 p.m. ET, and features more than 20 sessions on localization, cybersecurity, content protection, and cloud-enabled technologies.

The program will kick off with a vibrant fireside chat featuring Halsey Minor, Founder and CEO at Live Planet, operator of the VideoCoin Network, discussing new applications of blockchain and what it means for the future of video content management. Minor, a serial entrepreneur, founder of Cnet and initial investor in Salesforce, will examine the inevitable integration of new technologies, question which technologies are already legacy products and address what changes are needed across the industry. In addition to covering the obstacles to blockchain adoption, he will explore the importance of the Data Journey, AI and Cloud to future distribution opportunities and particularly how Blockchain and AI can be used in video content management.

Tech entrepreneur Shelton Mercer will present the closing keynote focused on his groundbreaking 20:20 project incubated at Comcast/NBCUniversal, and will walk attendees through his concepts of “social mobilization” and how “leading with passion” can turn crisis into catalyst. Mercer is chairman of The Mercer Advisory Group and Mercer Innovation, as well as co-founder of big data and media technology company Audigent, award-winning charitable social media campaign firm TwitChange and The 20:20 Collective. A celebrated philanthropist, ordained pastor and certified leadership coach, he has created technology-driven audience strategies for Disney, the Jonas Brothers, Warner Bros., NBC, Sony and dozens of other entertainment brands. His TwitChange endeavor partnered with hundreds of celebrities and brands, raising millions for charity and causes via social media.

The online event will also feature a series of more than 20 different panel discussions, presentations and sessions hosted by top M&E technology providers, all centered around the latest solutions for, and the challenges facing, the industry in today’s global remote-work business environment. M&E Day is being produced by MESA, in cooperation with NAB Show New York, and in association with the Content Delivery & Security Association (CDSA) and the Hollywood IT Society (HITS).
