Company Recognized as Among the Top Companies Disrupting the US Electric Market and Transforming the Electrical Power Sector

Sunverge Energy, Inc. was today named to Greentech Media’s Grid Edge 20 list as one of the twenty most innovative firms working to architect the future of the electric power industry. Along with other awardees, Sunverge was selected based on its contribution to grid edge technology transformation through new products, disruptive strategies and forward-looking vision. The company’s Solar Integration System (SIS) integrated energy storage platform has increasingly been seen as a critical element at a time when utility business models are facing change and more distributed energy resources are coming online.

“Greentech Media is widely regarded as the organization which keeps its finger on the pulse of innovative technologies that are shaping the future of the grid,” said Ken Munson, President & CEO of Sunverge Energy. “We are honored to be named as one of their Grid Edge 20 and recognized for our success in defining the market for integrated energy storage platforms which bring intelligence to the edges of the grid.”

Greentech Media leveraged ongoing interaction with power utilities as well as energy stakeholders and other thought leaders to identify the Grid Edge 20. “The Grid Edge 20 is an annual benchmark for our industry,” said Steve Propper, Director of Grid Edge at Greentech Media. “This year’s group is made up of technology vendors making the greatest impact on the market in terms of deploying disruptive solutions commercially. It also includes utilities making smart investments to optimize their distribution network architecture and prepare for the future architecture of the grid.”

A participant at Greentech Media’s recent Solar Summit 2015, Sunverge Energy has now deployed their solar plus storage platform with utilities to over 400 installations globally with 4.5MWh of storage capacity under management and industry-leading availability. “The continued success of our utility-grade energy storage solution, and our proven ability to safely and reliably improve the performance of the grid, are hallmarks of our company,” shared Dean Sanders, co-founder and CTO of Sunverge. “We set out to achieve something that had never been done before, developing a customer-sited behind-the-meter energy storage platform which enables utilities through leading-edge cloud-based SaaS applications. We’re pleased an industry organization the caliber of Greentech Media has recognized our accomplishment and shares the vision.”
