HITACHI CONSULTING’S MAGGIE BELLVILLE TO BE HONORED BY ALLIANCE FOR WOMEN IN MEDIA, SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
DENVER – March 21, 2016 – Hitachi Consulting, a subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. and a leading provider of IT consulting and management consulting solutions and services, is proud to announce that Maggie Bellville, vice president and member of the U.S. Communications, Media & Entertainment Industry executive team, will be honored with the Inspiration Award at the 57th Genii Awards presented on May 5th by the Alliance for Women in Media, Southern California.
Former Genii winner, and former president of the ABC-Disney Television Group, Anne Sweeney, will present the award to her longtime friend, Maggie Bellville at the ceremony. Bellville will be honored in recognition of her efforts to mentor other women aspiring to the executive ranks in cable television operations.
Media executives who have been honored by the Alliance in the past include Kay Koplovitz, formerly of the USA Network and Geraldine Laybourne, veteran of Viacom Networks and OWN.
The awards (pronounced “Jeannie” and named in honor of Jeanne Gray McDonald, the affiliate group founder) acknowledges the notable achievements of women in media and entertainment. Honorees are selected based on their pioneering efforts, dedicated leadership, commitment to quality and excellence, and their community contributions. Genii honorees have made significant contributions to the industry, upholding the mission of the organization to advance the impact of women in media by educating and acting as a resource to its members, the industry and our community.
“I am delighted to be included in such an impressive group. I think it is important for executives to share their knowledge and experience with new talent on their way up – it’s just the way I work,” said Bellville. “It’s very special to have those efforts reinforced this way!”
The Genii Awards will be held at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles on May 5. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Alliance for Women in Media Southern California Foundation and its related scholarship program.
